This book was a difficult one to read because though what Trent did to his wife Laura and kids makes you want to hate him, yet you cannot because he feels all of that himself and A near death experience changed him, pulling him between his family and his men, so rather than dealing with his family he deploys over and over, pulling away from his wife and then his career implodes with accusations of impropriety and wrong doing He then decides to win back his family if he cannot salvage his career [...]

3.5 starsMs Scott does internal dialogue very well I liked being inside Trent s head, the only way to know him really as he is a very closed man I also liked that Ms Scott wrote about the internal politicking of the army like any other organisation really where life is not all roses.
